Start on saturday, I sort of can’t wait because I’ve been so tired doing stuff for college* lately that I want to just sleep for a whole weekend; but on the other hand it means that there are hardly any college days in the run up to my exams in June and I am not confident in my ability to do well…

Queen - Who Wants To Live Forever

Who dares to love forever
Oh oo woh, when love must die
But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can have forever
And we can love forever
Forever is our today

Victorian dress made from 1,000 beetle wings restored at a cost of £50,000

A Victorian dress made from 1,000 beetle wings that was worn by one of the most famous actresses of the era has been restored at a cost of £50,000.
The emerald and sea green gown - worn by Ellen Terry when she played Lady Macbeth at London’s Lyceum Theatre in 1888 - will now go on display in Smallhythe Place, Kent.
It is covered with the iridescent wings of the jewel beetle which the insects naturally shed as part of their life cycle.

While I find this absolutely breathtaking and am not entirely opposed to it, considering it is vintage and Jewel Beetles are used in jewelry often…. ( And correct me if I’m wrong, here) Beetles go through complete metamorphosis which means the last statement: “it is covered with the iridescent wings of the jewel beetle which the insects naturally shed as part of their life cycle.” is incorrect. They no longer molt as adults so the elytra (wing covers) are not naturally shed. Therefore, the beetles have been killed in the process. Comments?

Automatic drawings in the silence (by mayakonakamura)
10 days have passed since the tragedy. We are getting used to aftershocks and blackouts. Radiation is one of our biggest concerns. The living is not as convenient as it used to be. Sometimes I get confused with my headaches / dizziness, and the real earthquakes, though I am fine !
